To get to Zakopane, usually you need to get to the city of Kraków first. Kraków is very well connected via fast Intercity trains with other major cities in Poland, including Poznań (travel time around 6h), Wrocław (around 3.5h) and Warsaw (around 2,5h); there is also a connection to Berlin HBH (travel time around 7h).You can fly into Kraków Airport (Cracow's Balice Airport), but that's about as close as you're going to get to Zakopane by plane. Like most Alpine resorts, a train, bus or car journey into the mountains will be needed. Roadways on the weekends can be a bit crowded, but the trains and buses leave regularly from Kraków's main station and take around 2 hours in total to get there.
You can buy bus tickets to Zakopane on-line, e.g. through the website: https://en.e-podroznik.pl/ The buses leave from the Kraków's main bus station, located right next to the train main station (Kraków Główny/ Kraków MDA).
